People will choose to volunteer for Rakkha for a variety of reasons. Some have been personally affected by crime, for others it offers the chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the people around them.

  • Educating the community, will show that enough is enough. It’s time for action and move forward.
  • Through volunteering, you will help to give a voice to people who don’t feel able to speak up/ those who are vulnerable.
  • Volunteers are active across all communities, using their personal networks and building new relationships to promote our portal to the people who need them the most.
  • Many people with a learning disability are a victim of crime or hate crime and need somebody to speak up for them and take their side.
  • You do not need any experience or qualifications. However, we are looking for people who are reliable, non-judgemental and have effective listening skills.
  • You must be able to take instruction and adhere to our Confidential and Equal Opportunity Policies.
